To ensure a great experience for everyone on the platform, we use an algorithm to offer all incoming Favors. The algorithm considers a number of different factors when determining the best Runner to complete a specific Favor. We are unable to offer Favors by request.
Shop & Deliver orders
Shop & Deliver orders involve shopping for a customer’s items inside the store, then delivering them. Orders from grocery and retail stores like H-E-B Now, Walmart, or CVS (previously labeled Place & Pay orders) will now be marked as Shop & Deliver. Starting Monday, November 4, 2024, you’ll start to see some grocery and retail orders previously labeled as Place & Pay updated to Shop & Deliver.
The Shop & Deliver eligibility section in the app is a new verification process we will begin rolling out in 2025. This brief educational process features tips and tricks to make these orders even easier, so you can get back on the road quickly.
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to also complete the insulation verification process in the app so you can take advantage of Shop & Deliver eligibility as it becomes available. You can complete this verification under Settings by tapping either Batching eligibility or Shop & Deliver eligibility, then following the prompts.
Please note: Shop & Deliver eligibility is currently being offered to Runners who have already completed insulation verification. We will be rolling out this process to more Runners in the future!
Batched orders
A batched order is when you have multiple Favors from the same restaurant or store at the same time. These orders can help you earn more because you only have one pickup location, which means you can run Favors faster.
You are eligible to receive a batched Favor until you tap Leaving Store. When you receive a batched Favor, collect the items as normal. We then suggest taking a minute to plan the best route to drop off the deliveries quickly.
If you would rather not run both Favors, you can choose to decline any new offers.
On average, batched H-E-B home delivery orders are completed 20% faster than running two separate orders.* That means you can move on to your next orders even faster to help boost your earnings.
To be eligible to receive batched home delivery orders, you must verify that you have at least 4 insulated bags or coolers. You can get verified for batched orders by going to Settings in the Runner app, tapping Batching Eligibility, and following the prompts to upload a photo of your bags or coolers. The Favor team will verify your eligibility within 2 business days. If you do not verify your eligibility, you will not be offered batched orders.
Runners may use any insulated bags or coolers they like, but affordable options are available in person at H-E-B or online in the Favor Runner Store. As always, you are free to accept or decline any delivery you like. However, if you arrive to pick up batched H-E-B home delivery orders without proper insulation at an H-E-B location, H-E-B Partners will decline to give you the orders.
You will see the information about both orders in a batch on a single acceptance screen, which will feature 2 X H-E-B and the BATCH and INSULATION icons. You can see your estimated earnings, estimated total time, and total distance below the ACCEPT button.
When you accept a batch, the app will automatically show you the most efficient drop-off route. We strongly recommend dropping off the orders in the sequence shown in the app.
Early Assignments
You can turn Early Assignments on and off under Settings in the Runner app. If you turn on Early Assignments, you will be eligible for a new Favor as soon as you tap Leaving Store.
That means you can call in your next order sooner, which can minimize your downtime and maximize your earnings. If you turn off Early Assignments, you will not be eligible for a new Favor until you tap At House.
In-App Pause
The In-App Pause feature allows you to pause new offers for up to 15 minutes.
You can turn In-App Pause on and off under Settings in the Runner app. Once this feature is turned on, you can pause new offers anytime by tapping Pause New Favors.
If you do not have an active Favor, a countdown timer will start for 15 minutes. If you have active Favors in progress, the timer will start once those Favors have been completed.
Have Early Assignments turned on? Don’t worry—you can still pause yourself anytime you’d like!
If you’d like to get back on the road sooner, tap Resume Session. Otherwise, you’ll receive a push notification when your 15-minute pause is almost up. If you do not resume running after 15 minutes, the app will automatically end the session for you.
Hot Spots
To find busy areas, look for Hot Spots in the Runner app to navigate you closer to the action. When you are within one mile of a Hot Spot, you are more likely to receive an offer.
If you see a Hot Spot near you, tap on it to get directions to that location through your preferred navigation app. Please note that Hot Spots do not guarantee you will be assigned a Favor, but do increase the likelihood you will receive an offer quickly.
Offer errors
If you feel you've received a Favor in error, please report the problem to our Support team by following these steps:
1. Log in to the Runner app
2. Tap the Runner menu icon (three lines) in the top left corner of the screen
3. Select Settings
4. Tap Report a Problem
Repeatedly declining offers
If you repeatedly and regularly decline offers, your account may be temporarily blocked from accepting offers by the Favor Trust & Safety team, who will notify you via email. When you are ready to deliver again, you can respond to the Trust & Safety team’s email with confirmation of your identity and that you are interested in accepting offers again. Please note: If your account is temporarily blocked multiple times, your account may be subject to suspension or deactivation, per the Runner Community Guidelines.
